These terms cover your use of Toby. By creating an account or starting an interview, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our privacy policy.

1. Who we are

2. What Toby is

Toby is a practice tool. It researches roles and companies, runs mock interviews with an AI interviewer and gives you feedback.

Company research, likely questions and interview structures come from public sources, candidate reports and inference. They may be incomplete or out of date, so check anything important.
Scores and feedback are generated automatically and can be wrong. Use them as guidance, not a verdict.
We can't guarantee any interview outcome or job offer.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or over and give accurate details. Keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.

4. Free minutes and prices

Each person gets their first 5 minutes of interview time free. Free minutes are limited to one account per person.
After that, interview time is charged per minute at the price shown in Toby before you start. Prices are in GBP and include VAT where it applies.
Only time on a call is charged. Prep briefs, questions and debriefs are included.

We may change prices for the future. Changes never apply to time you've already used.

5. Cancellations and refunds

You can stop a session or close your account at any time. When you start a paid session, you ask us to provide the service straight away, so you can't cancel minutes you've already used. This doesn't affect your legal rights: if something goes wrong on our side, such as a session failing, contact us and we'll put it right or refund you.

6. Using Toby fairly

Don't:

use Toby during a real interview or assessment to get live help;
upload content you don't have the right to share, or other people's personal data without their permission;
use Toby for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive;
copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the service;
try to get around free-minute limits, for example with multiple accounts.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

7. Your content

You own what you give us: your CV, notes and answers. You give us permission to use it only to provide and improve Toby for you, as set out in our privacy policy. You can delete sessions at any time.

8. Our content

Toby, its software, design and brand belong to us. Apart from using the service as intended, these terms don't give you any rights in them.

9. Availability and changes

We'll do our best to keep Toby running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may improve or change features over time. If we change these terms significantly, we'll tell you before the changes take effect.

10. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Otherwise, we're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost income or opportunities. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Ending these terms

You can close your account at any time. We may close it if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or with 30 days' notice if we stop providing Toby. Any free minutes left when your account closes can't be refunded.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you have a complaint, contact us first and we'll try to resolve it.
