Questions to expect

Based on what BCG says each stage tests and the qualities it looks for.

Skills interview

Why BCG, and why consulting?

What in your CV are you proudest of, and why?

Case interview

A hospital group wants to cut waiting times without hiring more staff. How would you approach it?

Team interview

Tell me about a time a teammate changed your mind.

Tell me about a time you came up with an unusual solution.

How to prepare

  1. Prepare for the behavioural side too. BCG's own people say its interviews include a behavioural part, not just cases.
  2. Tie answers to the role. Relate what you say back to the job's requirements.
  3. Map a story to each quality. Integrity, curiosity, creativity, collaboration and drive.
  4. Treat it as two-way. Let your personality come through, and ask about the culture.1
